Captain Randy Apele

MEDIA RELEASE

Police Chief Lawrence K. Mahuna has promoted Randy Apele from lieutenant to captain, effective March 16. He takes over command of the Kona Patrol District.

Apele was most recently lieutenant in charge of Community Policing. He fills the position formerly held by Captain Paul Kealoha, who transferred to the Area II Criminal Investigations Division to fill a vacancy left by the retirement of Captain Robert Hickcox.
