Big Island police are looking for a 24-year-old inmate who escaped from the Hale Nani Correctional Facility in Hilo earlier this month.
The escapee was identified as Davi F. Alvarez, who was reported missing during a 10:18 a.m. check at the facility on July 8, 2003.
Alvarez is described as being 5-foot-3 in height, weighing about 140 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300. The number is answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property. Crime Stoppers neither subscribes to “Caller ID,” nor does it record phone calls.
