MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Criminal Investigation Section detectives on 10-30-99 were investigating a reported Sex Assault and Theft which occurred in Kailua-Kona.

According to the 21 year old female victim, from Kailua Kona, she was sexually assaulted and also had a gold necklace taken in the Theft.

A 34-year-old Puna man was arrested by Kona Patrol Officers on 10-30-99 in connection with the crimes. Kona Criminal Investigation Section released the Puna man and are continuing the investigation after conferring with the Prosecutor’s Office in Kona.
