Charged with 3 counts of Sex Assault

Detectives from Area 1 Juvenile Aid Section have charged Peter Bailey, M-49, of Lapauhoehoe, with several sex assault offenses which occurred on Sunday, July 22, 2007, at approximately 8:30 p.m. at a church in Pepeekeo.
Bailey had transported a female minor to the church for choir practice. While at the church, Bailey assaulted the female several times. A family member of the female went to the church and observed the assaults and ran for help. Other family members responded to the church and detained Bailey until police arrived.
Bailey was charged with three counts of Sex Assault in the First Degree and is presently being held at the Hilo Police Station Cellblock with bail set at $300,000.00.
